Our History
Bruce Mills founded Mills Properties in 1979 by constructing our first apartment community, Bonhomme Village. Bruce Mills was no stranger to real-estate; in his portfolio were apartments, hotels, shopping centers, and office buildings. In the mid-nineties, Mills Properties began to focus exclusively on being the #1 choice for apartment living in St. Louis. A leader in Multi-Family Housing has emerged from that vision and growth is on the horizon! Mills continues to explore new markets to add to our already impressive portfolio.
Mills and it's officers have been recognized with many prestigious awards over the years such as being named "Management Company of the Year" multiple times including 2008, awarded by the St. Louis Apartment Association (SLAA). Bruce Mills was honored by receiving the "Pillar of the Industry" award in 2001. Several of the apartment communities have also received Homer Awards by the National Home Builders Association, Property of the Year Awards by the SLAA, as well as many individual associate awards and honors. Mills communities and associates alike hold recognition among their peers as leaders in the multifamily industry!
